Many crorepatis of Uttarakhand now aspires to
become MLAs. To fulfill this desire of going to the assembly, he has taken the
path of elections. In the election season of 2022, this time 40 percent of
crorepati candidates are trying their luck. The Association for Democratic
Reforms (ADR) has released this report after analyzing 626 candidates out of
632 in the state. Out of these 626, there are 252 crorepati candidates in the
state this time, in which BJP has maximum 60 candidates.
ADR's coordinator Manoj Dhyani released the report
of ADR in a press conference held at the Press Club on Monday. He told that
this time the number of crorepati candidates has increased as compared to 2017.
Told that in 2017, where 31 percent of the candidates were crorepatis, this
time 40 percent of the candidates are crorepatis.
While releasing this report, ADR has also made some
recommendations. This includes seeking permanent disqualification of candidates
convicted of heinous crimes like murder, rape, trafficking, dacoity,
kidnapping.
